“I found Nate through TikTok and immediately noticed how clearly he explains Korean. As a non-native English speaker, that made a huge difference for me.
His classes focus on real, everyday Korean, and he creates a safe, pressure-free space to learn. I used to feel nervous before class, but now I always look forward to them. Being able to go at my own pace while still making progress completely changed how I feel about speaking Korean.”
If you are new to Korean, we begin with a strong foundation:
Learning 한글 clearly and efficiently
Understanding Korean sounds, rhythm, and pronunciation
Building confidence reading and speaking early
Following a structured path instead of random resources
I use my Hangul Boss and Daily Korean for Beginners frameworks as part of your personalized learning path, so you always know what to focus on next.
You are never rushed into conversation before you are ready.
We build step by step, with intention.
Working with me teaches you how to understand Korean and actually use it.
One of the biggest advantages of working with me is this:
I know how to break Korean down clearly, no matter how complex it seems.
Because I learned Korean at a young age, I understand:
Where learners get confused
Why certain explanations do not click
How to explain Korean in a way that actually makes sense
Many native teachers know Korean instinctively. They have trouble explaining grammar and expressions.
I teach it intentionally, step by step, so you can understand it and start speaking sooner.
In our 1:1 coaching, we focus on:
Understanding Korean patterns clearly instead of memorizing rules
Thinking in Korean instead of translating word by word
Everyday speaking patterns Koreans actually use
Short, natural responses before long sentences
Rhythm, flow, and confidence in conversation
Feedback that builds safety, not anxiety
You are not studying more.
You are learning how Korean works and training real speaking reflexes.

“Before working with Nate, I tried to learn Korean on my own but felt completely stuck. I didn’t know how to practice speaking or make my Korean sound natural.
What made the difference was learning real, everyday Korean, not textbook language. The one-on-one guidance helped me adjust how I speak, gain confidence, and actually use Korean in real-life situations.
I finally feel comfortable speaking Korean, and I’m confident I’ll reach my goal of becoming a trilingual interpreter.”
Before you apply, I want you to see how I teach.
My approach is calm, clear, and focused on helping adults understand and use Korean, not memorize rules. If this teaching style resonates with you, 1:1 coaching will be a strong fit.
Hi, I’m Nate.
I began learning Korean at 14 at a Korean school in Los Angeles for the children of Korean immigrants. From the beginning, I learned Korean as it is actually spoken and lived, not just studied.
Later, I studied in Seoul at one of the top Ivy League–level universities in Korea, fully immersed alongside native Korean students. I’ve also worked as a manufacturing interpreter for two major Korean companies, where Korean had to be used clearly, accurately, and under real pressure.
I’ve been teaching Korean for the past seven years, helping adult learners start from the very beginning or move past long-standing speaking blocks and finally use Korean with confidence.
Learning Korean also shaped my life in a deeper way. Growing up in an abusive household, it gave me direction, hope, and a future to work toward. That experience is why I care so much about teaching Korean with clarity, structure, and support, not pressure or shame.
If you’re looking for someone to impress you with fluency alone, there are many options.
If you want someone who understands Korean deeply and knows how to break it down clearly so you can actually start speaking, you’re in the right place.
If you want to improve your Korean but need more time before applying, you can stay connected with me here.
I share guidance on how to think in Korean, speak more naturally, and stop getting stuck translating in your head.

Meet Karlie: a brilliant professional from New York who works in academics.
When she first joined my classes over 2 years ago, she had one goal:
Learn Korean in a way that was intentional, engaging, and connected to real life.
Fast forward to today, and here’s what she’s accomplished:
✅ Landed a job at a major Korean entertainment company in Los Angeles
✅ Appeared in a Netflix documentary
✅ Traveled to Seoul for business and confidently used her Korean in real life
✅ Built genuine friendships and professional connections with Koreans
What I admire most about Karlie isn’t just her speaking skills : it’s her consistency, focus, and joy in learning.
Karlie’s story is proof that with the right space, support, and guidance, you can go from learning Korean at home to confidently using it in the real world.
“I struggled with Korean for about four years and tried everything, textbooks, online classes, and self-study, but always ended up frustrated and stuck.
This coaching finally gave me structure and real guidance. The lessons are clear, personalized, and never overwhelming. Nate is patient and helps you truly understand and progress at your own pace.
If you genuinely want to improve your Korean and are willing to put in the work, I highly recommend this.”
